I am new to the site and fairly new to a structured Jedi Path but I have been interested for some time. I just turned 30, I am a veteran and served 2 tours in Iraq. I am a husband and a father of 2 and my oldest has autism.

I have been on my own path for about 6 years now, dabbing in a a vast array of things. I have searched long and hard for what I have always admired about Jedi and the Path. My life is chaotic and very stressful, so I am just hoping to finally find some peace.

Good to see you here. I'm in my 40's, served in two Armies and spent some time in Africa in greens. Wife, kids,
also a recovering alcoholic, sober 4 years after 25 years of active drinking. This path offers a lot of benefits, the esoteric stuff is light on and you decide on the spiritual angle. There's all the stuff you will find in eastern philosophies like meditation and mindfulness without the mumbo jumbo and training in martial arts is recommended. I like the holistic but practical applications and the stressed importance on a balanced life, lots of exercise and being rational and objective.
Stick around, you won't be disappointed.

Glad to hear from some other vets here JT and Draegon. I have been very pleased with what I have found here so far and I do plan on sticking around a while. I'm recently back to nature and starting a homestead; internet is scarce. However, I am on the Jedi path, no less.

Peace and Balance,

Scyndas
